Anger is a common and normal emotion that results from an individual’s perception of being threatened, harmed, or treated unfairly. It is a natural and mostly automatic response to pain (physical/emotional,) and feelings of shame, guilt, frustration, sadness, and many other negative feelings.
Participants in this group will learn about the different types of anger, and they will learn healthy coping skills to better manage and express their feelings. The participants will learn more effective interpersonal communication skills and connect with others who are struggling with the same issues.
Anger can lead to problems with relationships and employment. Left untreated, it can cause you to lose relationships, your job or cause legal issues, such as fights or domestic violence or child abuse charges. We want to help you learn how to control your anger, so you can deal with life stressors in a healthy way.
Anger management classes are weekly & conducted in a group setting. Individual anger management sessions are available.
